opportunities for attorneys

Use Your Credentials to Make a Lasting Impact

Every day, vulnerable individuals face serious legal challenges—eviction, abuse, immigration crises, financial scams—with no access to legal representation. The need is overwhelming but with your help, justice becomes possible. At Center for Elder Law & Justice, we empower attorneys to use their skills for good through meaningful, supported pro bono opportunities. Whether you have 5 hours a month or 50, your time can change lives.

Are you a seasoned attorney looking to make a meaningful impact during the next chapter of your legal career? The Attorney Emeritus Program offers a unique opportunity for attorneys aged 55 and older to give back through pro bono service—while enjoying valuable professional benefits.

This program is open to attorneys who are 55 years of age or older and have practiced law for a minimum of ten years. Participants commit to providing 60 hours of pro bono legal service over a two-year reporting cycle, supporting clients in need through Center for Elder Law & Justice. Opportunities to volunteer are available both in person and virtually, offering the flexibility to serve in a way that fits your schedule.

If you are registered as a retired attorney, participation in the Attorney Emeritus Program waives your biannual CLE requirements and registration fees. For attorneys who are still actively practicing, CLE and registration obligations still apply, but the program allows you to earn up to 15 CLE credits for qualifying pro bono work during each reporting cycle.

Regardless of your registration status, all pro bono cases through Center for Elder Law & Justice are fully covered by malpractice insurance, ensuring you can volunteer with peace of mind and professional support.

Enrollment is open year-round. To join, you can complete the online enrollment form or call (877) 800-0396 for assistance.

Your legal experience still has the power to change lives. Join us in expanding access to justice—one client, one case, one community at a time.
