ERIN L. RIKER
Supervising Attorney – Technology-Based Legal Services
Erin Riker is the Supervising Attorney for Technology-Based Legal services at the Center for Elder Law and Justice. In this capacity, she manages the Senior Legal Advice Helpline, the Senior Financial Safety Tool, and the Legal Risk Detector. While at CELJ, Erin designed and implemented the Helpline, overseeing its expansion from a 3-county rural service area to serving seniors across New York State. Erin also oversees CELJ’s county contracts in Allegany, Cattaraugus, Genesee, Wyoming, and Steuben Counties. Previously, Erin provided legal assistance to seniors in the refugee community with obtaining green cards and US citizenship. Erin regularly presents at statewide and nationwide conferences on legal technology issues relevant to nonprofit legal services agencies, including the NYSBA Partnership Conference, LSC Innovations in Technology Conference, and ABA/NLADA Equal Justice Conference.
Prior to working for CELJ, Erin worked in commercial and banking litigation for 7 years at a private law firm, where she also implemented and managed a Pro Bono Legal Services program. Erin was the recipient of the 2016 Champions for Justice Pro Bono Coordinator Award. She previously served as a member of the Fundraising Committee for the Erie County Family Justice Center, and currently serves as a member of the Home School Association at Nativity of Our Lord Elementary School in Orchard Park.
